Shown here is a Beavertown treasure, Vesta Coleman, leading a contingent of flower-laden Baby-Boomer children down Center Street on their way to decorate the graves and to remember our veterans, probably in the late 1940s. Vesta has done SO MUCH for our community, and is VERY DEEPLY APPRECIATED for doing so.
(How many parades will Beavertown have in 2002? Answer next month.)

Charles “Max” Kearns invented the Victory Cultivator during WWII. His son, Charles Jr. was granted many patents, the principal one significantly improved airplane propellers.
While James “Daddy” Kline is credited with the hydraulic ram, it was actually invented by a retarded man by the name of John Weaver, who lived in a fruit house on Walnut Street.
