While this is not history of many years past, it is history. Shown above is an internet processed photo of a bear on the front porch of the Dr. Ted Hetrick south and just outside of the borough line. It appears to be a young animal, probably a male. This bear or one very similar to it has visited and been pepper sprayed away several times recently.
(When were the past recent bear visits to Beavertown? Answer next month.)
Answer to Last Month
Four things you can’t see on last month’s aerial photo of Beavertown are:
- Our sanitary sewer plant, which was not built until 1969.
- The many expansions to the silk mill and the complete renovation of the plant by Conestoga, Beavertown’s largest employer EVER!
- Our house numbers which were optional in the early 1990s but now are mandatory!
- The water meters installed in any building that is a customer of our water system.
