Fly in the Spring

For as little as fifty cents you could take a ride in this plane over Beavertown. From the 1920s up until WWII, the pilot would come, circle the town, and land at what is now the upper cemetery, and take paid customers for rides. The editor took a ride, and was leaning out so far to see everything that the pilot became concerned and cut the trip short.

(Can you name another place and pilot who took people for plane rides in Beavertown? Answer in next month’s issue.)

Answer to Last Month

The U.S. Post Office was located in the former Amanda Specht Hat Shop.

The Girl Scouts in Beavertown used this building as a meeting place in the 1940s.

After this it became the residence of Donna Walker, Music Teacher in the Beaver Vocational High School.

If you know of other business uses this building had over the years, call the editor some evening.
