Shown here in front of the Lutheran Church are a group of Beavertowners in 1946 displaying the gifts given to Mrs. Harold Victor “Shimmy” Freed, a war-bride from Scotland. We apologize for the poor quality of this copy of a copy of the original photograph. How many folks can you identify?
(Did Beavertown have any other war-brides after WWII? Answer next month.)

Paul Freed composed the Beavertown High School fight song on May 7, 1921. The chorus goes as follows:
We’ll give a rah, rah, rah, for Old Beaver,
We’ll give a rah, rah, rah, for our school,
For the purple and gold
we’re an army brave and bold,
And we’ll fight in all our battles Golden Rule,
We’ll give a rah, rah, rah, for Old Beaver,
We’ll give a rah, rah, rah, for the right,
And our motto as we play the game
shall ever be the very same
For Beaver High while banners fly,
We’ll Fight! Fight! Fight!
