POS of A Parade

(Courtesy of Doris Lash)

We described this parade in a previous issue, so we won’t be redundant. Shown here is the had unit of the parade marching on West Market Street past a vacant field where the silk mill is now located. This narrow dirt street was considered a very good road in 1915.

(Who owned and sold this field to the silk mill so it could be built? Answer next month.)

Answer to Last Month

While Elias Specht was the principal gunmaker of Beavertown, it was his brother Moses Specht who first learned the trade, and taught it to Elias.

Obviously, Carl Richard and Donald Getz are two other gunmakers that practiced that honorable profession in Beavertown. We are honored that Don Getz still does so today.
