Shown here is a group from Beavertown in the 1920s in Florida to buy land to start a new town to be called Beavertown, Florida. On the left is Charles Aumiller and wife. On the right is H. H. Thomas. The others are not known. Unfortunately the land was a watery swamp, so they declined to buy it, and no new Beavertown was ever built. Think of what might have been had it been good land!
(What other big plans by Beavertowners fell through over the years? Answer next month.)

Besides the present ball field located behind Super Service Garage, which at one time had a large grandstand and dug outs, the town team played baseball at a field where Yetter Chevrolet (soon to be OIP) later located.
Also, town teams played ball right below (to the north) where David Hassinger now lives on Center Street. These later had no grandstands, but a fine brand of baseball was played there.
