American Legion Plot

Shown above is the Beavertown American Legion Argonne Post #45 plot on what was then “Daddy” Kline’s cemetery. Besides the flagpole, it had a mounted 5 inch British naval rifle, and two captured German machine guns. Notice the corn field very near the plot. From this, one can see how much the cemetery has grown in area since 1920.

The three members of the 1939 B.V.H.S. Debating Team from Beavertown today reside as follows:

Henry Moyer lives at 28651 Main Street, Milbury, Ohio 43447-9603.

Jack Kearns lives at 12005 Kerwood Road, Silver Springs, Maryland 20900.

Dr. Edwin D. Freed lives at 1527 Willoughby Drive, Wooster, Ohio 44691-2548.

Of the six members of the ’39 class that went on to college, five were from Beavertown, and all five got their degrees.
