Shown here are Betty (Narehood) Spigelmeyer and her husband “Mick” along with Marion “Dote” Wetzel, loafing at one of the 5 or so outdoor public loafing places available in Beavertown into the 50s. Many men of that time had nicknames. Some were Dutch like “Dote”. Nicknames are still around, but “Dutch” ones are fading out.
(Name three other men who had “Dutch nicknames” in Beavertown in the 50s. Answer next month.)

Al Soles and Manny Heikus operated the barber shop before Nance Albert.
Before he became our Postmaster, at one time Max Saylor was a barber in Beavertown in the 1930s.
Elmer Snyder had a barber shop where Jerry Wagner lives now in the 1950s.
That is at least 4 other barbers. Are there others you know of?
