Continuing with our series on Mayors of Beavertown, this time we feature our 5th, Mayor J. Frank Hetrick, who served two terms from 1958 to 1965.
“Frank” was our last Chief Burgess. This title was then changed to Mayor during his second term in office beginning in 1962.
(Who was the first person elected Mayor that was never a Chief Burgess in Beavertown? Answer next month.)
Answer to Last Month
Beavertown has had ten Mayors so far since its incorporation on November 14, 1914.
They are: W. O. Stetler, 1 term; John P. Walker, 3 terms; Charles R. Spaid, 1 term; Charles W. Bobb, 6 terms; J. Frank Hetrick, 2 terms; Joe Norman, 2 terms; Rudolph W. Coleman, 1 term; George Saylor, 1 term; William Kepner, 2 terms; and Cloyd W. Wagner, who is in his 5th term.
An 8X10 framed photograph of each mayor will be placed in the borough building. Once we have a photograph of W. O. Stetler. Can anyone help us?
