Shown here are the members of the Beavertown Little League in 1960, and they are left to right: Jimmy Weaver, Ted Hetrick, Will Kepner, Gary (Butch) Wagner, Gary Narehood, Roger Middleswarth, Dell Ritter, Steve Bingaman, Hubert Aurand, Sam Herman, Charley Ritter, Coach Bill Saylor and Jerry Bingaman. Most of those living are now pillars in the communities they presently live in.

Some Good Old Days

When school summer vacation rolled around in the 30s and 40s, two of the favorite spots we kids would walk to were the “Twelve Foot Hole” and “The Levels”, both very fine swimming holes in the Middle Creek.

On the way to either, coming and going, we would usually stop at that most excellent spring in the Pine Swamp to get a drink of that delicious cool to cold spring water. What fun!
