We honor our Mayors in this column from time to time. This time we want to recognize Mr. Joe Norman for his 8 years of public service as Mayor to our borough. However, Joe also served several terms as a Councilman, and headed up our borough planning commission for a number of years. As Mayor, Joe served from January 1966 to December 1973, serving his two terms with great distinction! In fact all of his services to Beavertown were very well done.

(What Mayor served the shortest term in Beavertown? Answer next month.)

The 1907 Eureka Model D was priced to sell for $650.00 without top.

It was a gearless, clutchless and valveless auto buggy, which means in essence, you simply put it in drive and went. While this was not an automatic transmission, it was just as simple to operate.

Since it had no gears, it probably did not have a reverse drive. Most likely, it could be easily pushed.
