The first Kearns Car was an Auto Buggy they called the Eureka! It was manufactured in 1907 at the former Kearns Buggy Factory on South Center Street (now the north yard of 127 S. Center). A small catalog of its many features (some very advanced) was printed and distributed. We do not know how many were made and sold, but we do know one survives, but its present location is unknown. Here is a photo of this auto taken by George Saylor at the Beaver Fair in September 1995. This auto was very advanced for the time.

Mrs. Donna Walker came to teach music at B.V.H.S. in September 1944, replacing the great Charles William Coleman.
She went on to a distinguished career at that school, as well as doing some elementary school music education.
She died tragically when she was overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning from a coal stove.
