Die nacht var Grischtdaag gehe die Kinner frieh ins Bett.  Dann kummt der alt Belsnickel un schtecht Grischtkindel in die gleene Schtrimp un unnich der baum.

Translation


The night before Christmas the children go to bed early.  Then the old Belscnikel (Santa Claus) comes and sticks gifts in the small stockings and under the tree.

 
 


 
 
 

 

 

Im Nowember geht mer oftmols hundle.  Mer nemmt ‘n gleener Hund mit, laadt sei Flint mit Schroot, un sucht far Haase, G’schwaerle, Fasante, odder annere Veggel.

Translation


In November I often go hunting.  I take a little dog with, load my flint with shot, and look for rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, or other birds.

 
 


 
 
 

 

 

Im Oktower hot’s blendi Kaerrebse.  Die Mammi macht seller guut Boi, as ich so viel gleich.  Ich hab scier gaar der gans Kaerrebseboi gesse.  Sie hot gewunnert wie gross mei Maage waar.

Translation


In October there are plenty of pumpkins.  My mother makes them good pies that I like so.  I ate nearly the whole pie.  She wondered how big my stomach was.

 
 


 
 
 

 

 

Wann der Summer verbei iss, no kummt’s Schpootyaahr; die schenscht Zeit vum Yaahr.  Dann iss es kiehl.  Die Bledder scheene Farve hen.

Translation
