To help celebrate the Beavertown Bicentennial, candy and clothing items with the special logo will be available for purchase at the Beavertown Borough Office. The Susquehanna Bank in Beavertown will have items on display in their lobby.
Prices are as follows : Printed T-shirts $12.00, Printed Sweatshirts $15.00, and Embroidered Golf Sport Shirts -$20.00. Shirts and sweatshirts will be available in the colors white, ash gray and sand. There will be an extra $2.00 charge for sizes 2XL to 4XL. Embroidered Low Profile Caps -$13.00 are available in white with denim bill khaki, and stone with green bill. Candy Bars with Commemorative Wrapper -$2.00, will be available as well and can be purchased at the Susquehanna Bank. Clothing is available to be purchased or you can place an order by contacting the Beavertown Borough office at 570-658-2482. Plastic Bunting is available at 21 cents per foot at the Borough Building during office hours or by calling 658-7205 weekdays from 6 to 9 P.M. or Saturdays noon to 9:00 P.M.

Sometime between August 17th. and August 21st., some expert licensed and certified out of town judges will travel all around Beavertown Borough and look at each house that is decorated for our town's 200th. birthday, and pick the first, second and third place winners.
The prizes going to the winners will be $50 First place, $30 Second Place and $20 Third Place. The winners will be announced at 6:00 P.M. on August 22nd. at the Happy Birthday Beavertown Birthday Party to be held at the Possum Hollow Park. Winners of this prize, AND THIS PRIZE ONLY, need not be present to win.
In order to facilitate the town's decorations, the Beavertown Bicentennial Committee has purchased 900 yards of very nice red, white and blue plastic bunting, with white stars on a blue background, which we will sell to any Beavertown resident at our cost of 21 cents a foot. This is very flexible and can be seen from both sides. It can made into fans and anything else your imagination can conceive of. This bunting is available right now every weekday evening from 6 to 9 PM, and all day Saturday, from 9 to 9, at the home of Rodney Kerstetter, of 429 East Market Street, the yellow house right across from the Getz Barrel Company shop. You may call 658-7205 during these hours to put in your order so all you need to do then is to come to the house and pick up your ready made order.
Lets really "doll up" Beavertown for Hillbilly Fever Days and the week following when we will have our big Historic Show in the Firehall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the big birthday party on Sunday from Noon to 9:00 P.M. at the Possum Hollow Park. Fly your flags, display your bunting, and anything else in good taste to make our town festive. Share this information with your friends and familiy . We want everyone to know about our Bicentennial fun so all of our citizens can be part of it.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 22ND. FROM NOON UNTIL 9:00 P.M.
On August 22nd. beginning at 12:00 Noon, everyone who lives or has ever lived in Beavertown or Beaver Township is invited to come to our Community Picnic and Happy Birthday Beavertown Party at the Possum Hollow Park.
Bring a covered dish, or fruit salad or vegatable salad. We will supply you with plates, cups, bowls, napkins, silverware, cold sodas or bottled water, birthday cake and homemade ice cream. At 12:30 we will have an Invocation and Grace, followed by a help yourself buffet line to get food and then sit down and eat.
Following this, at about 2:00 P.M. we will have the games and contests. There will be a Quoits contest, a Softball Throw for boys and a seperate one for girls, a roll the Hula Hoop race, a twirl the Hula Hoop contest, a Balloon Toss contest, a Balloon Race, a Wheelbarrow Race and a Candy Scramble for the kiddies. In other words, there will be games for all ages, with the first and second place winners getting prizes.
We will also be giving out nice Door Prizes, a total of 5 in all throughout the day and night. You must be present to win these prizes.
At about 4:30 we will have some dignitaries present certificates and honor citations wishing Beavertown a great 200th. Birthday. They will be on the stage with the Mayor.
Following this we will announce the winners of the Home Decorating Contest, with $50.00 going to First Place, $30.00 to Second Place and $20.00 going to Third Place.
At about 6:00 P.M. there will be good wholesome American entertainment on the stage, lasting until about 9:00 P.M. At 8:45, all present will be asked to sing Happy Birthday to Beavertown.
At 9:00 P.M. we will have the Benediction and close the party. This will be held rain or shine. We can eat under roof, and if needed, have everything else under roof except the games. So come on out! Bring your family and your friends, AND BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIRS TOO! COME OUT AND HELP CELEBRATE BEAVERTOWN'S 200TH. BIRTHDAY!

On July 18th the Mayor hosted an historic walking tour of South Center Street. The event began at the Susquehanna Bank, and proceeded to the corner of South Center and Railroad Streets. Along the way many interesting tales were related pertaining to our town's rich history. If you missed the tour, you are in luck... watch it here:
On August 20, 21 and 22, 2010, a happy birthday Beavertown historic display will be held in the Rescue Hose Company firehall.
If you have an interesting photo, document or object of Beavertown, from its 200 years of being, we encourage you to loan it to the Bicentennial Committee to put on display at this special show.
Beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 20th, we will be entering your exhibits. We will continue to do so until 9:00 PM that evening. While the show will not be complete, the public is invited to view this activity.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, August 21st and 22nd, the show will be open for viewing from noon until 9:00 PM.
On Sunday evening, beginning at 8:00 PM, your loaned exhibits may be picked up and be returned to you with our deepest thanks for your participation!
